RRHA & NACA’S ACHIEVE THE DREAM EVENT IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA

Empowering Renters to Become Homeowners with NACA’s Best in America Mortgage

RICHMOND, VA — The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), the nation’s largest HUD-approved nonprofit homeownership and advocacy organization, is bringing its renowned Achieve the Dream event to Richmond.  This three-day homeownership event in partnership with Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA), will run from Friday, March 21 to Sunday, March 23, 8AM – 8PM daily, providing an unparallelled opportunity for homebuyers at Virginia Union University, 1500 N Lombardy St, Richmond, VA 23220.

NACA’s Best in America Mortgage Features:

  • No down payment, no closing costs, no mortgage insurance
  • Below-market, fixed interest rates (30-year fixed mortgage rate is 5.625% as of February 27).

Unlike traditional mortgage programs, NACA’s approach does not factor in credit scores. Instead, it focuses solely on an applicant’s financial readiness, ensuring accessibility for a broader range of potential homeowners.

Additionally, through this partnership with the RRHA, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher holders will have the opportunity to transition from renting to homeownership. NACA’s Best in America Mortgage allows voucher recipients to apply their rental assistance toward mortgage payments, making homeownership more accessible and a pathway to building long-term financial stability and generational wealth.

Unmatched One-Day Homeownership Process

Event attendees complete the following four steps of the home-buying process in just one day.  Many participants leave the event being NACA Qualified for NACA’s outstanding mortgage, ready to begin their housing search.

  1. Homebuyer Workshop: Learn about NACA’s homeownership programs and resources.
  2. Information & Document Upload: Provide information and upload documents into NACA’s Member Portal for a seamless process.
  3. One-on-One Counseling: Meet with a NACA HUD-certified housing counselor for personalized counseling
  4. Mortgage Qualification: Sit with a NACA mortgage specialist to qualify for NACA’s the Best in America Mortgage or the next steps.

Transforming Homeownership Dreams into Reality

“Many families are left struggling to save for down payments or meet traditional lending criteria,” said Bruce Marks, NACA CEO. “NACA’s Achieve the Dream event offers a game-changing solution, helping low- to moderate-income individuals and families obtain affordable homeownership —without the financial hurdles and other obstacles that often block the path to homeownership.”

” This partnership would end residents’ dependency on public assistance” said RRHA CEO Steven Nesmith.  “Public housing families and those with a Section 8 voucher can now achieve the dream of affordable homeownership, build wealth and ultimately become self-sufficient.”

Homebuyers and renters have everything to gain and nothing to lose by attending NACA’s Achieve the Dream event. They can take control of their financial future and join the many thousands of families who have achieved affordable homeownership through NACA.
