RRHA and City Officials Remind Residents of Last Chance Repayment Agreement

WHO:  Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer Steven Nesmith and RRHA staff volunteers along with Richmond City Council persons, The Honorable Cynthia Newbille (7th District), The Honorable Ann Francis Lambert (3rd District) and The Honorable Ellen Robertson (6th District).

WHAT: As part of RRHA’s “Compassion Action” Initiative, RRHA representatives and partners will knock on doors in each of RRHA’s public housing communities, including senior communities to remind residents about RRHA’s Last Chance repayment agreement to stay housed. To take advantage, residents who owe back rent must make and keep an appointment with their management office to sign RRHA’s Last Chance repayment agreement.

WHY: Residents who are behind on their rent have an opportunity to avoid lease enforcement due to non-payment of rent (eviction) by entering this agreement. August 31 is the last day to enter this agreement.

WHEN:  Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Noon)     
 (Other days that RRHA representatives and volunteers will be canvassing communities to offer reminders are Wednesday, July 17 from 8:30a – 11:30a, Saturday, July 20 from 9a – Noon, Friday, July 26 from 8:30a – 11:30a, Saturday, August 3 from 9a – Noon and Saturday, August 31 from 9a – Noon)
