WHO: Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA), the largest housing authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia; RRHA’s Chief Executive Officer Steven Nesmith and RRHA Affordable Housing Staff.
WHAT: RRHA is opening waitlists for Project-Based Voucher (PBV) and RRHA public housing family communities.
Project-based communities include Phases A & B at 3100 Purcell Road and the properties of Afton, Fulton, and Randolph, managed by The Michaels Group. RRHA public housing family communities include Fairfield, Gilpin, Hillside, Mosby, and Whitcomb. Various home sizes ranging from one (1) bedroom to five (5) bedrooms will be offered.
WHERE: Logon to RRHA’s Applicant Portal to submit an application by following these steps: STEP 1 – Go to rrha.com. STEP 2 – Login to the Applicant Portal with your Email and Password, or “Click here to register” STEP 3 – Follow the instructions.
WHEN: Beginning Monday, March 10, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. through Friday, March 14, 2025 at 5 p.m. The public housing waitlist will be extended through April 10, 2025.
Additional walk-in days added: Monday, March 10, 2025 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Noon) & Friday, March 14, 2025 | 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
WHY: Through a series of programs and activities, the aim of RRHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program and Tenant Selection Office is to tackle the affordable housing crisis in the City of Richmond and reduce wait times on our waitlists by providing opportunities for as many persons as possible to find housing.
3/18 Update:
RRHA received 6,044 requests to be placed on the PBV waitlists during the opening week.
RRHA assisted 229 applicants in person with registering, gaining access to portal and applying to the PBV waitlists.
